One tool. Adjustable working distance. The FG008 fibreglass telescopic pole provides a 4–8 ft working range for crews whose standoff requirement varies across tasks or shifts.
Why Fibreglass
The FG008 uses a fibreglass telescopic pole rather than a metal shaft for two reasons: weight and electrical properties. At full 8 ft extension, handling weight becomes a significant factor in operator control and fatigue across a shift.
Fibreglass keeps the pole's handling weight manageable at full extension. Fibreglass is also electrically non-conductive — a relevant secondary consideration in environments where a metal extension pole would be undesirable near live electrical equipment.
The 60 mm · 275 lb Head
The FG008 uses a 60 mm head rated at 275 lb — not the 75 mm, 550 lb head used on fixed-length tools. This is a deliberate engineering decision, not a cost reduction.
At the leverage present when the pole is extended toward its full 8 ft reach, a 75 mm, 550 lb head would present more resistance to intentional disengagement than an operator could comfortably manage. The 275 lb rating is deliberately matched to the leverage and handling characteristics of the telescopic pole at extension.
Configuration Options
Available in the same three head configurations as the fixed-reach range: 90° Flex Head, 180° Swivel Head, and 360° Rotation. Head selection follows the same decision logic — the primary question is whether the operator's position changes during the task.
For controlled, repeatable approach geometry where the engagement angle remains relatively consistent.
For tasks where the operator moves around the load and the working angle changes during the positioning sequence.
For complex geometries or access conditions where rotational freedom of the magnetic face is required.
Inspection Requirements
Requires the standard pre-use check for all Load-It® tools, plus additional inspection of the extension mechanism: the extension collars must seat securely and the locking mechanism must engage positively at the required length before each use.
A telescopic pole with a locking failure at extension presents a different risk profile from a fixed-length tool — this inspection step must not be omitted.
